Eszter Katona is a survey statistician who started her PhD in 2018 at ELTE University Faculty of Social Sciences. Her supervisors are Ildikó Barna and Renáta Németh. Since September 2018 she also serves as an Assistant Lecturer at ELTE Faculty of Social Sciences at the Department for Social Research Methodology. Her research topic is Natural Language Processing in the social sciences. She wrote her MSc thesis on topic modelling: she created a tag recommendation algorithm for the database of articles of K-Monitor, which is a Hungarian NGO, working against corruption. She will deal especially with the topic of hate speech and corruption.
